Hand painted type – Tucson south side

In Tucson, if you travel south of downtown, you’ll see some of the most beautiful, hand-painted signs around. They are colorful, full of expression, dynamic, engaging, quirky and imperfect. Sign painting is still a respectable trade in Mexico, and in this part of our city, instead of heavily branded corporate sameness, you will find miles of taco stands, tire shops, carnicerias, flower stalls, piñata makers and raspados vendors emblazoned with hand-painted signs and murals. They contribute much to the character of our city, and we love them.
